Virtual Entrepreneurial Program

Emerge VEP

Women of color generate $1 trillion as consumers and $361 billion in revenue as entrepreneurs, launching companies at 4X the rate of all woman-owned businesses. In spite of having limited resources in our black and brown communities we figure out ways to make our dreams a reality; however, oftentimes it is at the expense of self-care and self-worth and our value is not treated as our peers. We are working diligently to create and change a different narrative at Career Sisters. We have met several hundred black and brown entrepreneurs who have the desire, ideas, and passion, however need guidance and educational resources. We refer to them in the background as our "Career Sister Gems" - some naturally exude a brilliant shine while others may require a little buffing and polishing. We support this with our Emerge VEP through a series of guided coaching and mentoring sessions to create a solid road map to success.

Career and Personal Assessments

We apply a variety of assessment tools to enhance the learning and professional development for the outcomes of our programs. The top four we currently use depending on the company and/or individual are as follows:

DISC

Measures observable behavior.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

Regularly used for team-building purposes, it divides everyone into one of 16 different personality types.

Gallup Strengthsfinder

Focuses predominantly on strengths rather than weaknesses, preferences or behaviors.

360 Degree Feedback

Involves receiving feedback from multiple colleagues. This can be done anonymously or with names associated.
